OT/Controls Engineer
Become a part of the team responsible for the operational backbone of one of Europe's most advanced data center campuses, working at the intersection of automation and critical infrastructure!
At Bulk, our mission is to build sustainable infrastructure that supports the digital society of tomorrow. As one of the leading providers of sustainable, high-performance data center solutions in the Nordics, we design and operate infrastructure that powers artificial intelligence and the digital society, efficiently, securely, and with 100% renewable energy. We are now looking to hire an experienced OT/Controls Engineer to support our growing operations team at N01 Campus in Vennesla in Norway.
The OT/Controls Engineer holds primary operational responsibility for the Building Management System (BMS), Power Monitoring System (PMS), Energy Management System (EMS), and other OT systems associated with critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
This is not a hands-on programming role. You will spend your time operating and improving OT systems, supporting troubleshooting and lifecycle activities, defining technical requirements, and coordinating vendors, integrators, and project stakeholders.
What you'll do:
As our OT/Controls Engineer, your key responsibilities will be:
Own the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the BMS platform and associated OT systems.
Troubleshoot and follow up on alarms, events, system performance issues, and abnormal operating conditions.
Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, and service partners on day-to-day support and improvements.
Contribute to design reviews, technical assessments, control philosophies and technical specifications for new systems and facility expansions.
Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and operational readiness activities for new builds and expansions.
Maintain technical documentation, asset information, and system records.
Who are you?
You have a solid automation, controls or OT background and are comfortable coordinating vendors and reviewing technical work. You are practical, structured, and calm under pressure when something on site needs troubleshooting.
What you bring:
Background in automation, electrical engineering, OT, or control systems, through education and experience.
Experience operating or troubleshooting BMS, industrial automation systems, or other OT platforms, ideally within data centres, oil & gas, utilities, manufacturing, or other critical infrastructure environments.
Understanding of IT networking fundamentals, network architecture, and system topology.
Experience with testing, commissioning, controls verification, or operational handover activities.
Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or OPC-UA.
Fluent written and verbal English.
Why join us?
Join a small, high ownership team early, with real influence over how systems and processes are shaped as the site grows. Here you can work at the intersection of operations, vendor management, and critical infrastructure.
What we offer our Bulkies:
A dynamic, growth-oriented workplace with a strong sustainability focus.
Comprehensive insurance and annual health check.
Additional time off during Easter and Christmas.
Monthly contribution to home internet costs and sustainable commuting.
Annual wellness allowance to support an active lifestyle.
Fully paid parental leave.
Take the next step in your career and join us as we build the future of digital infrastructure in Norway and beyond!
